The Canada Drive Development on the east side of Cherry Burton has been identified within the latest version of the East Riding Local Plan since 2013, but has been a potential development site for many years before then, even under the old Beverley Borough Council Local Plans of the 1980/90s.
Within the adopted Allocation Document (July 2016) this plot of land is referred to as CHER-B but within the Draft Local Plan it was referred to as CHER-3 (Northern section) and CHER-6. (Southern section).
It is worth noting that CHER-3r (a site to the North of CHER-3) was removed from the Draft Local Plan in 2013 as it was largely within an area of high flood. (see P. 29).
In the later East Riding Local Plan review and fact-checking exercise, the reference number has changed to CHER-8 and a new plot introduced as CHER-9, along with a small plot called 336, which appears to sit in the middle of the two plots . This area seems to be predominantly the old CHER-3r which was rejected in 2013. There is no mention of the plot of 4 houses on the southern side of this proposed development which was called CHER-6 in the Draft Local Plan - Proposed Major Changes, and it is assumed that this is now part of CHER-8.
