Notification from Orsted of Upcoming Works: Geophysical Investigations
In order to prepare for the future construction of Hornsea 4 offshore wind farm, we will be carrying out geophysical surveys along our onshore cable corridor. This includes at locations around our onshore substation site, our substation access road to the south of the A1079, along the cable corridor and at the landfall site at Fraisthorpe.
The geophysical surveys will be undertaken to help identify areas of possible archaeological interest. This will help inform where we will undertake further archaeological investigations next year, which we will provide you notice of if these are within your parish.
Where these works will take place? We began carrying out this work at the Hornsea 4 onshore substation site next to Creyke Beck substation, and at the landfall site at Fraisthorpe Beach on Wednesday 11th September. We will then be working along our cable corridor working from the substation to the landfall site. This will begin the week commencing 16th September, between 7:00am and 6:00pm. We will be undertaking these surveys for approximately 3 weeks.
What to expect? You might see us working on site during the day. • Some low-level noise from onsite machinery during working hours.
Questions? We’re committed to keeping you informed about our work. We want to be a good neighbour and try to minimise the impacts of our work on the community. If you’d like to get in touch, please email us at contact@hornseaprojectfour.co.uk.

Dog Fouling
Incidents of Dog Fouling
We have received reports of increased incidents of dog fouling on footpaths around the village.
We can confirm that all East Riding of Yorkshire Council litter bins may be used for disposing of bagged up dog waste collected whilst walking your dog. If anyone leaves bags of dog waste on trees, bushes, the base of a lamp post etc. they are committing a littering offence that may also be punished by way of a £75 fixed penalty being issued.
The great majority of dog walkers do pick up after their dog and get really annoyed with the few who don’t as they don’t want to be “tarred with the same brush.” There is no excuse for not picking up.
If you would like to report an offender you can report an offence to ERYC please click here.
